IGS British Branch Meeting

The International Glaciological Society has a meeting for British glaciology every year. I could not go this year, but its really a brilliant meeting, full of friendly, engaged scientists presenting pretty cutting edge research. I’d recommend attending one to all young and older scientists. This year, the meeting was at Loughborough in early September, and the organisers have made a video showcasing the type of experience and science you can expect at such a meeting.

I’d also recommend that glaciologists consider joining the  International Glaciological Society as its the only organisation of its type for the field, and membership allows you to shape something of how the IGS and the discipline of glaciology evolve.

About lindsey

Environmental scientist. I am glaciologist specialising in glacier-climate interactions to better understand the climate system. The point of this is to understand how glaciated envionments might change in the future - how the glaciers will respond and what the impact on associated water resources and hazard potential will be.
